*NOTE for AV, BV, BCV, CV, DV, RT and Model 5 console organs: These instruments require normally to be used in conjunction with an external Tone cabinet / Leslie, as the organ's pre-amplifier mounted inside the organ console is actually powered by the externally attached tone cabinet or Leslie. This means: Above line out adapter will have to be connected to the Leslie extension output connector at the tone cabinet / Leslie (usually 5 pin, so purchase the 5 pin adapter). If wishing to operate the organ stand alone without a tone cabinet or Leslie attached (or if you don't have a Leslie/ Tone Cabinet), these organs will require a power supply to be installed and added to the organ. Once installed, the organ will work stand alone and the Line output adapter can be plugged directly into the 6 pin Tone Cabinet / Leslie out jack on the organ. Perfect for CV or RT rigs with a motion sound cabinet. Below a picture of a power supply kit, which I custom crafted by hand with point to point wiring for a client. My power supplies start at $125 (below shown "vintage" unit is higher in price)

Pre-amplifier Power Supply for Hammond AV, BV, BCV, CV, BCV, CV, DV, RT models
Power supply kit for AV, BV, BCV, CV, DV, RT models to allow "stand alone" operation of the organ without the need to connect an external tone cabinet / Leslie connected to it.

HAMMOND A-100 / B3 tone-wheel drawbar console organ

Description: This Hammond A-102 console Organ is it: It is the mecahnism of a full Hammond B3 in a home edition case that could not be more beautiful! The A-series adds a 2 chanel internal tube amplifier system with reverb.

This unit is a model A-102 The A-102 offers the Queen Ann design style. It was most likely made in 1962.

Condition: Excellent. All works excellently and sounds amazing! The vibrato scanner has been recently overhauled and the generator was lubricated and the keybpard contacts in good condition. Most of the tubes are original "Hammond" branded which were made in Europe.

Cosmetics: 8-9/10 (10 if it was not for minor scratches that were infliceted by transporting the unit in som epoint of it's journey.)

Lot: Organ, fully tubed with foot tpedal assembly. Protective top cover. No bench (check below listed console organ bench, whcih if re-painted may work!). Item located in California, USA, near Chico, CA - 2.5 hrs. from SF Bay Area, 1 hr. from Sacramento, CA.

Price: $ 2550 for lot as above. Buyer pays freight / transportation charges or to come pick up from CA, Chico area, (CA - 2.5 hrs. from SF Bay Area, 1 hr. from Sacramento,). Delivery a possibility if paid for. Feel free to contact me for more detail. ,

Features: Since there is a lot of information on the B3 out on the web already, I will elaborate on some of the less known and detailled features of the B3 / A-100. The unit has 2 sets of 9 Drawbars per manual (4 sets total). The drawbars can acessed for play by pressing the last 2 highest preset keys. The Bass pedal has 2 Draw bars. Besides the 2 drawbar presets, each manual has 10 presets. These are in factory configuration, but can be programmed by hardware setups - one would screw connector cables to a panel. Other features of the B3 / A-100 are: 61 keys per manual (5 full octaves), a percussion system which puts a one-shot decay enevelope over the highest harmonics. Percussion on the B3 can only be assigned to the upper manual (swell) when using the highest preset / drawbar setting. The percussion system offers these function switches: on/off, Percussion volume: soft/normal, Percussion Decay: Fast/Slow, Percussion Harmonic Selector: Third harmonic/second harmonic. When percussion is active the last 2 highest draw-bars ar einactive, as percussion "steals" th evoices from this circuit. There is a Chorus/vibration circuit which is controlled by a rotating knob. It offers: Vibrato 1-3 and Chorus 1-3; There is a seperate control for reverberation, which regulates the volume of the reverbration amplifier, which by the way is a second amplifier to create a true stereo effect. The organ also offers to add or cancel vibrato for each manual and it offers to switch the organ volume to soft or normal. This is the B3 / A-100 in a nutsell. Check out some more information on the A-100 series on "captain foldbak's" website.

Baldwin Orgasonic Vintage Tube Organ w/ Leslie and Touch Sensitive keys!
1960's USA Hand Made

Vintage Baldwin Tube Organ

Described in Detail HERE!

Baldwin BL-1 Tube Amplified Leslie Tone Cabinet

Description:
This vintage US made tube amplified Leslie was made under license from Electromusic by Baldwin, likely in the late 50's / early 60's. Quite an accumulation of truly vintage equipment: The Leslie tone cabinet features a dual 6L6 tube amplifier, which features a tube rectifier, the cabinet includes a nice quality original vintage 12" speaker, the woooden rotror baffle, and the same standard motor used in all Leslie cabinets. This item consitis of the amplified tone cabinet, but also includes the whol ekit and everything needed, to add Lelslie capbilitires to any organ (or even guitar amplifier !): There is an original 29' Leslei connection cable (6 pin), a set of two white colored "half moon" switches and the hardware to connect these parts to an organ: a hardware box to which the half moon switchedes connect, and a power adapter that will bring power to the whole kit.
Here more detail to deepen understanding: In a standard Leslie rig turning on the power of the organ will bring power to the Leslie to power the amplifier and the motor. There are the famous "half moon" control switches, of which one turns the leslie effect on (and off -labeled as: tremolo on/off) by enabeling the motor to run (relay controlled). The other half moon switch is known as the " MEE switch", which means and is labeled as: Main, Echo, Ensemble. This allows to direct the audio signal either to the organ internal sepaker only (main), to the Leslie only (Echo) or to both Leslie and Organ (Ensemble). All the needed hardware is included here to facilitate these functions almost for any organ. Hook-up is not really rocket scienece: basically the organ needs to provide switched AC power (= tunrs on / and off with the power switch of the organ) and the organ needs to provide a loudspeaker signal to the Leslie and to it's internal loudspeker. The Leslie kit will allow to switch the organ internal lodspeaker off - that is basically all there is to it. The included "half moon" switches are designed to easly mount to any organ - incerneath the keyboard facing the front of the organ with 2 screws each. For guitar amplifier usage the basics are similar: the guitar amplfier needs to provide a speaker level signal (tapped of the speaker - any guitar amp as little as 5Watts will do. To install / wire up the power/control hardware will be somewhat more involved, as the guitarist prefers to control with footswitches instead of the included half-moon switches, but I will glad to build the additional hardware (at additional cost) Add truly vintage Leslie sound and vintage Leslie hardware to whatever yoru music right might be - modern or vintage - I can help! The Leslie Tone cabinet and the amplifier are fully refurbished with a quality detail oriented overhaul job (details beliow) - performing to original specifications and ready to perform reliably for dcades.
This unit resembles similarities to the Leslie 125.

Detailed Features, Tone cabinet: 12" original speaker, belt driven wooden baffle rotor, original US made one speed motor (can be enhanced to multi-speed by adding a modern single speed to multi speed electronic conversion module). Motor control facilitated by amplifie internal relais circuitry, which includes an electronic brake circuit. Work performed to restore this unit to original specifications: Complete tear down: all mechanical parts (including the speaker) were cleaned, and metal surfces refurbished: light surface oxidisation due to age was removed form all metal parts, re-packing of the bearings and replacment of needed rubber parts. The unit runs quiet, smoothly and was restored for long term trouble free and reliable perormance.

Detailed Features, Connection / Control Kit: 1 Original Leslie cable in good condition, 29" long (sells used usually in the $60-$90 range); 1 MEE half moon switch cover white, original 5 pin mini plug (sells ususally in the $80 range); 1 Tremolo half moon switch, cover white, 2 pin mini plug (sells usually in the $60+ range); 1 Hardware connector box: jacks for the 2 plugs that are connected ot the half moon switches - the half moon switches get connected here; Leslie Speaker outptu jack (6 pin, the Leslie cable gets connected here); Male 5 pin plug "Console" (the additional adapter get connected here); 1 additional Lelsie / power adaper: contains a 117V AC power chord, a 5 pin female plug (connects to hardware box), contains also a dual 6 pin male female connector - there is a jumper plug connected to the female ens and th emale part of the 6 Pin plug is to be connected to the organ. This kit was removed form a working installation at a 1963 Wurlitzer Console organ, is tested and it should be possible to configure/modify this kit to work with almost any organ / guitar amplifier. (complete Leslie Kits sell usually in the $300-$350 without a leslie cable)
I can help to adapt this Leslie to your specific situtation (at additional cost)

Cosmetics and physical condition: overall: excellent. 8-9/10. There is one issue with the wood of the tone cabinet: the left front foot appears to have sat in water and has signs of darkening and paint has pealed off - leg is strong but would need re-work to be perfect. Varnish od the cabinet has the usual signs of ages (desirable), but is in great condition. All else excelent and the unit looks great . Will happy to describe in more detail / photos, if needed. All works perfectly without any flaws.

Lot: Tone cabinet, refurbished, with original fully tubed amplifier (vintage tubes that came with the unit installed). Vintage 12" speaker that came with the unit and is beleived to be origginal, original Leslie cable, 2 half moon switches and connection hardware - all items as described and shown above. itemsd located in the USA, northern CA shipping to most US locations estimared in $60-$160 range - will calculate with your Zip code, or local pick-up at no shipping cost)

Price: $875.00

Alternatives:

1) If wishing for a Leslie for guitar: I am in the process of custom modifying a guitar amplifier to provide a Leslie output and foot pedal motor control to allow to directly connect to this Leslie to the amplifer providing the device needed to plug your instrument (synth as well) into "the Leslie". This menas the here included Leslie kit will not be needed, but the amplifier will be added, which can be done at a lower cost.

2) Alternatively: I can evaluate, if I can modify your guitar amplifer in a similar way, so that you can just purchse the Leslie without the kit.

3) I have another Leslie for guitar amplifier, or for your keyboard amplifer with foot pedal control here.

If you want a Leslie for your instrument contact me as I may be able to provide the solution you need, or negotiate about the item described above.

Console Organ Bench

Spinet Organ Benches:

The Hammond Chord Organ

Description: The closest thing I have ever known to a Vacuum tube synthesizer - Verry warm and Musical. Unique sounds not to be found in any other instrument!
ultraelectronicactive.com
The Chord organ was originally designed for the nonmusical masses and distributed in the
50's. The motto was "one in every household" Designed for everyone to learn how to play a musical instrument. Inspite of the instrument to the masses approach, this instrument features absolutely unique sounds and technology not common to Hammond organs, nor any other organ. This instrument does not sound like a Hammond at all! This mostly due to the fact that the technology used that comes close to music synthesizer technology. To explain: If you look at a B3, or any tone wheel organ from a technological perspective, these are built on the principle of additive synthesis; which means: fundamentals are generated and then combined to generate harmonics, which is acomplished by the mixing by drawbars. The Tone-wheel generator was designed and developed by Mr. Hammond, who was a clock maker before he started his organ division. The results of a tone wheel organ are those: absolutely precisely tuned tone generation, which is completely steady and pure. Any impurity in sound has to be artificially introduced by means of a scanner vibrato and overdrive distortion. The tones of the chord organ, in contrary, are generated by highly unstable tube oscillators - 3 systems genrating sound, that is somewhat out of tune, hence a completely different sounding instrument. The chord organ in it's tonal qualities is extremely lush and warm. Now to the details that make this instrument even more "synthesizer like" compared to a standard organ: First of all, technologically speaking this instrument implements the technology of subtractive synthesis, which is the fundamental technology used in analog synthesizers: tone generation on the front end is rich in harmonics, then filters remove some of these harmonics to alter the sound to more pure waveforms. In the chord organ the filters are implemented with coils and capacitors. The unique combination of tube oscillators and LC filters yields waveforms and sounds that can't be produced with any other instrument - There is music in the Chord Organ that has not been recorded yet! No analogue synth sounds quite like it. (Continued below, left col.)©2002 ultraelectronicactive.com
What really elevates the chord organ into the realms of synthesizers is: It has a "percussion" system that implements an envelope generator featuring attack and decay. The parameters for the envelope can be acessed by switch combinations from the front panel for different "percussion" timings. (The unique configuration of using decay for the envelope, as implemented in this instrument, is uncommon for Hammond) - B3 percussion does not compare!) The Chord organ actually features 2 envelope systems: one for the solo voice and another which offers sustain function for the bass pedal.
Compared to an analogue synthesizers this unit does not sweep its filters, but a sound similar to swept filter sound can be achieved by combining the envelope solo sound with a steady gated sound. Playing both systems together results in change of harmonic content over time similar to that of a filter sweep. Continued right col. -->)
In summary: The chord organ generates completely unique sounds and offers a great variety of sounds quite unique to thsis instrument. There are a total of 24 switches and potentimeters to control the tonal qualities of thsi instrument. A great instrument for melodic work, complete music but also a unique voice for electronic music. The "percussion system" (old term for EG) of this instrument provides nice synth like attacks as well. There is great potential for modifications as well: imagine replacing the envelope switches with pots to have more control over the "envelope generator"; or more control over the filter qualities?©2002 ultraelectronicactive.com
Overall Perspective: Tone-Wheel-Hammond lovers - this instrument is not for you. It's a complete odd ball - Consider the A-100 above and to find the famous sound you were looking for! - Vintage analogue and tube synthesizer enthusiasts: this is your dream ship to warmth, lushness, unique sound and melodie!
