12" Guitar / Organ Speakers - Vintage US made - Cleveland. Jensen, Oxford, Rola, Utah
(Other Sizes than 12" > See below!)

12" Gitar Speakers
©2006, 2008 ultraelectronicactive.com - image also availalbe in large print resoltiion and can be licensned in various sizes - inquire

12" Vintage Guitar / Organ Speakers -US manufactured:

These come from the golden age of vaccum tubes when output power was scarce. Most of these are high efficient speakers, which means that little power is needed to bring out considerable volume and quite a bit of detail. The desirable of vintage guitar speakers is also non linearites in fruequency response and resonance frequencies as favoured by many guitar players. So: To be used with vintage amplifiers in the 10 to 30 W range. The below listed power capacity is an estimate based on hooking them up. I do not have data on any of these speakers. To use these speakers with higher powered amplifiers (if not several speakers are used to distribute power among them), is likely to destroy them.
All speakers were tested and swept with a sinus wave tone generator to detect potential problems, but do to age, are sold "
AS IS"

Please note: SHIPPING CHARGES are as calculated by size and weight are $12-$19 for 1 speaker and $15 - $26 for 2 speakers to most locations in the USA. I will weight each package for before shipping and get the actual shipping charge. If the shopping cart calculates a different amount, that simply means, that I will have to make adjustments before I can ship: bill you the additional charges or refund. International shipping is considerably more and even more likely to be miscalculated. So: If needing exact shipping charges prior to purchasing, please Inquire about shipping charges for the speaker(s) you are inteested in.

ONE OF A KIND ITEMS - Only one availalbe each. Please: Order only only one per shopping cart button - All speakers I have are listed here! Overpayment will be refunded. Actual item shown in each picture. In quire for larger images, if needed.
I will update and remove payment links for items no longer available as they sell.

Very Important: Please READ! I tested each and every one of the speakers to be working, but I do not warrant that they will work as a direct replacement for what you intend to use them for. If in doubt: Please check part numbers / frame nubers as given below to match what your need exactly, as these speakers are NOT RETURNABLE!

As To PRICES: "Make your own price" means to tell me how much this speaker in the described condition is worth you you. As a general guide: due to the amount of time it takes to find, buy, remove, clean, test, photograph, edit, describe and list these speakers here, the minimum for a single vintage speaker equal or larger in size to 6" should not sell for less than $35.00. I give volume discounts that increase in depth: the more items are purchased in one order, the greater the discount, AND I will be generous to those who spend money with me! Among my listed speakers there are several speakers that are rare and hard to find, and due to it, are worth much more than $35. Obviously I am not giving these away! So if unsure, carefully research how much a similar speaker to the one you need, is selling for (If unsure, call your guitar amp repair shop to get the price of an vintage original speaker!) to get a clear understanding about it's value. Then submit to me what it is worth to you. As said: I will respond with either "Sold!" or "NOPE" My goal is to sell these speakers to those who need them at FAIR PRICES - fair to both of us, but I won't waste time with haggling, bickering or unfair offers. It's a one shot deal: SOLD! I don't have the time for anything else. - Simply said: What you deem a fair price and how much you are willing to spend, to get that speaker (a "take it or leave it" offer!).

Wurlitzer E-Piano Speaker

Description: These vintage Wurlitzer speakers came out of a rare Wurlitzer 700 Guitar amplifier cabinet, but are also known to be used in Wurlitzer external E-Piano amplifer cabinets. I don't know the exact model number of units that used these, but I have heared there were several models in the style of the famous 200A that used these. I have seen the same type of speaker used in Allen Organ Tone Cabinets as well.

These original numbers at the basket are: 7980-6OHMS and 137 707. The golden sticker of the back of the Magnet says: This Speaker Custom designed for Wurlitzer". Compared to other vintage equipment it appears that these speakers were made in 1967 the USA by CTS (Chicago Telephone Supply), but these look quite a lot like vintage Magnavox seakers as well - I am confused.

The sticker on the magnet of the speaker says: “This speaker custom designed for WURLITZER Elkhart Indiana. U.S.A."

Condition: Speakers pass a sine wave power sweep test. The speakers are clean and in perfect condition. No dents, tears, gouges, rust etc - Perfect! When hooked up to a low powered 1W amplifier these developed and amazing tone and loudness, which leads to believe that these are quite high efficient speakers. Thes are great guitar speakers as well!

Description: This matched pair of Vintage 12" Guitar / Organ speakers were made in spring of 1967 likely by Quam/Nicolson in the USA. These speakers are perfect for guitar to achieve the "vintage alnico sound".

These original numbers are printed on both speaker's magnets (numbers match on both speakers): P6714 and 270124, stamped at the basket: "IEST7"

I am selling these cheap, as they unfortunately were victim to a "cat attack". Both speakers look les sthan perfect, but work without distortion / ratteling as they have been repaired on their cones.

Condition: Speaker 1 (right) had 1 tear in the cone, the other speaker (left) had cone material knocked out by cat claws which was reinstalled from another speakers old cone. Imperfections as shown above, please inquire for larger images if needed. Both speakers pass a sine wave sweep test Get a great usable pair of speaker scheap!

Features / Specifications: 8 Ohms, likely power handling capacity of 20 W - the amplifier that drove them had 2 x 6V6 Output tubes.

Lot: 2 12" vintage original speakers as described above, repaired.

Tweeter - Model 257

4" Alnico Drivers

Description: These vintage Jensen Chicago Alnico 5" speakers were used in intercom systems, but can make a great mid range and mini guitar speaker. Theese speakers feature Alnico magnets, are 8 Ohms, and have paper cones with a felt dust cover - great for that truely vintage sound! The printed EIA code does not deceive me, these were made on the magnets says: "121715 (the other 121717) which means that these were made by Jensen in the 15th (and 17 th) week of 1957. The numbers printed on back of the one of the cones says: "P-640" which very well could be the model number.

Condition: shows age, but all appears fine..

Dimensions / Measurements: outer diameter exactly 5", if measuring the cone edge to edge: 4 1/4".
Mounting holes are 4 5/8" apart, if measuring center to center of the mounting holes and in parallel to the basket's square edges (in other words: not across the center of the cone)

4" Alnico Drivers

Description: These types of 4" speakers were used in quite a variey of equipment made in the 50's and 60's. You will find them in tube record players and radios, but I beleive there were also a couple of small tube guitar amplifiers that used them. Theese feature Alnico magnets and paper cones with felt dust cover for that truely vintage sound. If my EIA code does not deceive me, these were made by Fisher Speakers. The numbers printed on back of the magnet read: "2150 1056 A815". The number printed on back of the cone reads: 6862

Condition: Near Mint, veryy clean - look like new! - perfectly working. I have 6 of these.

Dimensions / Measurements: exactly 4", if measuring edge to edge of the cardboard ring (mounting gasket) that is attached to the cone (see top image).
Mounting holes are 3 5/15" apart, if measuring center to center of the mounting holes and in parallel to the basket's square edges (in other words: not across the center of the cone)

Features: Size: 4", Impedanc:e 8 Ohms* (* = speakers read slightly higher than 8 Ohm speakers - so these could be 12 or 16 Ohms)

Lot: 1 vintage 4" speaker, each; I have 6 of these.
