Tape Reel Hold Downs
(Original vintage NOS!)
These rubber stoppers are used for the older type reel to reel recorders that do not have built-in tape reel locks. The rubber clamps onto the shafts of the deck to hold the tape reel in place for vertically operated reel to reel decks. These rubber clamps are original vintage new old stock and in perfect condition. As reel sizes are standard, these hold downs fit and work with almost any Reel to Reel deck, that requires rubber hold downs. I tested these on various decks such as: TEAC, SONY, Silvertone and more.

Tape Head Demagnetizing Coil
(Original vintage!)
A tape head demagnetize is for all equipment that uses magnetic recording media. The playing of magnetized tape mamgnetizes heads over time and results in loss of high frequencies and hiss. Magnetized heads can also partially erase some apescts of the original recoding and thus may damage vintage recordings. Professionls use head demagnetizers about every 10 play hours to main tain full integrity of their equipment. Here is the needed tool - vintage all original from the good old days of analog recordings!
Genrally thi sd unit is only used for a couple of minutes each session and when not in use, un plug it.

3 Audio Input patch device and INPUT EXTENEDER for TAPE or AUX devices
Description: This device adds to more audio inputs to where ever it gets connected but is quite vesitile and has several applications - see below. Ever ran out on inputs on your amplifier, receiver, recording equipment or what ever audio devices you use for listenign or recording? Simply unplug the device that is connected to the tape input that you want to extend. Plug the device into this unit and run a cables form this box to your device: voila! 2 more TAPE inputs. It's that simple. Originally this unit was desinged to extend the TAPE INPUTS of your amplifier / receiver, but it actually does quite a lot more than that, similar to a swiss army knife for a variety of purposes:
1) Extend your tape input to connect and fully facilitate 3 recording devices, plus get all possible options to copy audio between these devices.
2) If used for line level non recording devices only, such as CD players, MP3 player etc.this unit can serve as a 2 x 3 input extender (and even mixer), meaning 2 inputs on your amplifier / receiver can be exteneded to 6 INPUTS with this box. Once undestood how that works, it actuallty is quite simple to operate for this application. If planning use this option tell me and I will tell you how to connect it and how to set and use the switches.
3) Use this device on the tape connector of your mixing console for various applications. Understand that more than one device can be sent to the internal "copy" bus of this device in other words: This unit allows to mix audio signals.
Features/ Detailed functional description: This box manages 3 tape lines, where each "tape lline" consits of a stereo playback and a stereo recording signal. For each "tape" line there are 2 seperate switches (3 tape lines x 2 switch functions): the upper row of switches deternines where the recording signal to the tape device comes form and the bottom row of switches deternines where the output signal of the tape device gets sent to. Recording source selction optiions are: recoding output of the connected receiver, OFF and copy BUS. The options of where to send the output signal form each tape device separately are: To the tape input of the reciver, OFF, or the the copy BUS. Then there is a switch that selects which signal the amplifer / receiver (tape input) is listenign to: the tape output bus or the copy bus. These 7 switches thsu facilitate any desired patch option for recordign and for listening. Thus this device can be looked at as a "patch bay" that does not require to unplug the devices, rather facilitates all by switches. Now I hope you can see how vesitile an useful this device really is.
Condition: This unit is vintage - my guess at least 20 years old, but actually is in good / excellent conditon - works great perfectly (I wnet through it and refurbished it). Physical Condition: signs of use and lettering somewhat wekened (se eimage) Appearance and physical condition: good to very good. These are getting quite hard to find these days - get this while still available.

Cut your tapes to CD, or even get e-mailable MP3 files of your material. I publish my own music comercially and have a full featured recording studio based on a Digidesign ProTools System and various reel to reel decks. I can handle 15, 7 1/2, 3 3/4, 1 7/8 IPS recording speeds and full track, half track, quarter track and 4 track / 4 chanel recording formats

As tape reels vary in sizes and can be recorded in various diferent formats and recording speeds, a definte estimate can only be given when all details in regards to formats and the recorded material a tape contains, are known (Detail below).
The time required to transfer depends entirely on: the format and the quality of your recordigns, and on the quality of the desired final product. (More DETAIL below!)
Rule of thumb: If wishing to receive CD’s (or MP3’s) where each tune / piece from a tape can be accessed as a separate track on a CD, an average work/transfer time double of the material length (or: play time can) be expected. In other words: Required transfer work time averages aproximately double the PLAY TIME of the material recorded on your tapes.

Guideline: One 7" Open Reel Tape contains about 1800' of tape and will play in stereo: 45 Minutes @ 7 1/2 IPS, 90 Min. @ 3 3/4 IPS or 180 Minutes @ 1 7/8 IPS, PER SIDE (!) - so double the time if recorded double sided; AND: if recorded in mono: (as there are 2 tracks per side for quater track width) double the time AGAIN!.

Assuming that the recordings on a tape are of reasonable quality, that the tape is in reasonably good physical condtion and that it is desired that each tune is to be accessible as a separate track on the final CD: it takes in the average about twice as much time than the material's playtime, to properly record and master

These factors likely may reduce required time to process:
- Recording in one swoop without any interruption - (drawback: output CD will have only 1 accessible track on it)
- Tapes recorded at highest speeds
- Recordings of excellent quality and that are:
- propperly separated with silence between each tune / piece
- Tapes in perfect physical condition
- Tapes that have little material on them or have few separate tuens / pieces requiring no- or little separation.

These factors will add to the required time to process:
- different recording levels or different tonal qualities on the same tape, (tape was recorded on different machines, or at different times, or have great variation of material on the tape)
- sound quality poor or varies (may add considerably to the time it takes to process, as each change requires time to readjust processing).
- Poor quality recordings (set-up time for equalisation / resotration and post processing)
- Tunes merge into each other; talk over the beginning or ending of materials etc.
- Poor quality tape materials: aged tapes that are brittle, have loose tape partices, are torn, have wrinkles, are tearing apart easily, or a chemically contaminated, were storred in poor environments, etc.

- Recording format: stereo or mono tracks (or multi track);
- track fromat / track width: quarter track, half track, full track, (or special asigned, such as staggered, multi track, etc.)
- Recording Speed Info (Speeds: 1 7/8, 3 3/4, 7 1/5, 15, 38 IPS)
- Physical condition of the tapes(s)
- Material on the tape.

A suitable Reel to Reel Tape Deck in great working condition (there are many formats and tape sizes - see above!), Possibly analog processing equipment, and digital recording equipment that ideally would have processng capabilities and outputs to standard audio CDs (MP3’s).

Edison Amberol-Records - Music Cylinders.
About 100 years old! Here is an antique relic original from the beginning days of sound recordings! Edison invented the phongraph and cylindrical records were the first to appear at the turn of the cnetury. These record have survived time and are from the inventor's factory and "record label". Cylinder Records have grooves on the surface of the cylinder.
4-minute wax amberol records were introduced in 1908 required the Edison Model H reproducer to play it propperly
