4 Speed Portable Vintage Stereo Record Changer Restored! ![]() 16 / 78 / 33 / 45 RPM! 1970 GE Record Changer Description: This vintage stand alone record changer plays all types of records and allows stacking of records for continious play. This unit was found in great codition, but completely reworked for long termreliability. The unit is is in excellent condition - Very clean and very few signs of usage - The original "Diamond" label is still attached and hanging down (shown!) Besides mechanical work I decided to replace all of the electrolytive capacitor in this unit. This, even though the amplifier was fully working to provide long term reliability. There is a date stamp label on the amplifier: 4 NOV 1970. The unit appears to have been manufactured in the USA - A vintage classic! The built-in amplifier chassis according to it's label was made in in Ireland. The unit features the original 70's "cheeezy plastic sound" and sounds great especially for 78's. A great stand alone player and decor piece! >--STEREO!--< Features: Record changer: 16 / 33 / 45 / 78 RPM to play all record types. Vintage Genral Electric Portable Record Player ! - 33 /45 - w/ built-in speaker / amplifier ![]() Description: This unit appears to be USA made and it is made verry rugged, yet simple and very reliable. This record player is General Electric branded and fetures heavey duty brushless AC synchronus motor and all metal mechanical parts / bushings to last a life time! If I would guess, I would place it's creation date to be somewhere between 1972 and 1974. This record player is extremely easy to use, and a all in one unit with a built-in amplifier and speaker. This portable player is pefect to play 33/ 45 RPM records. The 45 RPM single center adapter isbuilt-in and can be released to be active. Just to mention it: Vintage players and players of recent production are not comparable: New equipment is made as cheaply as possible and to sell as many units as possible (philosophy: throw a non working player out to get a new one!) - a throw away item with all plastic mechanical parts and a cheezy little DC motor, likely made somewhere in China. I would be very surprised, if one gets more than a couple of years usage out of a new unit. I have seen some of these types motors used in these units fail after only a year! The here offered unit probably will have no trouble to run another 35 years with requiring only very little maintenence! Features: 2 speed settings: Neutral, 33, 45 RPM 45 RPM single center piece built-in. Volume control with power switch Tone arm with crystal cartridge Plastic suit case with handle Requires AC 110V AC 60 Hz Beautiful Blue Styling Theme! Condition: Good to excellent condition. Nice and clean. Perfect working condition - Recently serviced - overhauled! It's stylus in in good condition as well. There is however one minor short coming: The latch which locks the suit case together for transportign the unit is broken off and missing (Not a big problem, but be careful when carrying it like a suit-case. To put a rubber band around it when closed, will help. - If paying extra, I can see what I can do.) Work performed to present this unit in it's current condition: I re-worked all mechanical, electrical and electronics on it: Cleaned and lubricated all mechanical parts and deoxydized the volume control. Runs quiet. Works and plays well. Overall cosmetic condition: 8-9/10 Lot: 1 General Electric Portable Record Player as described and shown above. Price: $49.00 (I took a few Dollars off for the missing lid latch) Buy |
