Original - Vintage Analog Synthesized Beat -box Sound! Description: The Maestro Rhythm Jester can still be considered to be one of the early drum machines: All transistors desingn and very similar in design to the machines that came out in 1968. If I woudl guess, then this machine likely likely was manufactured between 1970 and 1972. There are no ICs in this machine and originally a lamps as the down beat indicator. 2 main boards: the rhythm generator and the sound board. Somehow I cannot surpress thoughts that this machine possibly maty have been made by Roalnd for Maestro (Gibson), as made in Japan and very similar to later Roland machines. The sound of the Jester remids to ROLAND machines as well and is based on analog generated sound. Equipment that is 40 years old, even if aparentrly working, usually develops quite a few of issues (noise intermittency, distortion, fuzyness, poor sound , malfunction, etc.) - This machine was refurbished to perform reliably and to prevent these issues - You will not be able to find a unit in better working condition! The Jester operates stand alone, offers a wide variety of sound and is plug and play to be used withan amplifier on stage, with an organ or in the electronic musician's analog recording studio! I replaced a defective trimmer potentiometer and upgraded the downbeat indicator lamp with a super bright LED. I deoxydized and lubricated all controls, switches and internal trimmer potentiometers for long term reliability. I perfromed adjustments and calibrations, Thoroughly testested. Original - Vintage Analog Silicon Transistor Sound! Description: The Rhthm Ace FR-2L is one of the first full electronic automatic Rhythm machines based on analog generated sound. Equipment that is 40+ years old, even if aparentrly working, usually develops quite a few of issues (noise intermittency, distortion, fuzyness, poor sound , malfunction, etc.) - This machine was fully refurbished to perform to original specs and to prevent these issues, to provide reliable top notch performance and clean sound for decades to come! - You will not be able to find a unit in better working condition! The FR-2L operates stand alone, offers a wide variety of sound and is plug and play to be used withan amplifier on stage, with an organ or in the electronic musician's analog recording studio! This series of machines were manufactured in Japan and designed by the same guy who later founded Roland Corporation. There are definitely simmilarities in sound to later Roland analog rhythm machines. This unit uses silicon transistors, and for drum sound genrations huge coils and a nois source for the cymbal type instruments for true vintage anlog electronic sound. There are 2 elements: the rythm "computer" (large PCB in the rear, left, which is constructed with silicon transistors and vintage silicone diodes. The drum sound module (PCB in the right rear section) is constucted with huge coils and a noise source for cymbal type instruments. There are trimmer potentiometers allow to fine tune each of the instruments and tonal balance. The FR-2L is one basic circuit and board design that also incarnated into the famous Hammond FR-2D. The sound of this analog drum machine is truely convincing vintage-electronic and reminds of Jean Michelle Jarre 70's Oxygene relases. It can't get any betther than this, and if seeking vintage electronic sound this is your machine! The snare sounds almost identical to later Roland equipment. The machine incorporates silicone transistors and circuits refference ground to positive. Buy Top Garage Main Listen to Music by Rising Star Home Also Check THIS Analog Electronic Drum Module! |

Work that went into this machine to present it as described and shown: Even though fully working when received: I replaced ALL (!) electrolytic capacitors in audio and generator circuitry to prevent issues that develop due to aged electrolytics. This also restores sound quality to when it was sold new. I deoxydized and lubricated all controls, switches and internal trimmer potentiometers for long term reliability. I re-soldered all aged solder points to prevent issues due to aged solder. I performed electronic adjustments. Thoroughly testested (I used it in my studio for a while to break in the new caps and to throughly test it!).
