To order parts by manufacturer, model and part number may be normal and feasible for equipment, that still is in production, but this does not help at all for vintage or obsolete audio equipment, nor for obsolete parts! Please use primarily descriptive information instead!

Audio equipment that has been made in the 1950’s is now approaching 60 years of age and likely it’s parts have been discontinued for almost that long and are obsolete. Equipment that has been made in the 70’s approaches 40 years in age and at least 30 years of obsolecense! - That is a long time!

Six decades of audio equipment history likely has produced hunderts of thousands of models, each using different parts, so the sad reality is: likely the exact part needed cannot be located and won't be available. Pulls of used parts from used similar equipment or similar parts form completely different equipment, modifications to the part or the equipment may be the only items available! Thus: No warranties of any kind!

In order to find replacment parts for obsolte equipment, desrciptive data will be required primarily, such as a photo, technical measurements and detail data, instead of part numbers, model numbers, or serial numbers, which are secondary.

For a needed potentiometer this may be expressed in: how many potentiometer layers, physical size and dimensions, electronic values and if it has loudness tabs and where, what type of potentiometer, etc. Succesful inquires for parts therefore should include what exactly the part is, and where or what the part is used for.

“I need a 250 K linear stereo ballance potentiometer with an 8 mm knurled shaft, 24 mm mounting depth, with solder lugs and center loudness tabs” gives me more detail to find you the needed part than: “I need a potentiometer part number #14576822 for a GE Stereo Multiplex Model B233, serial number: K14049”

If your part is not available or not found, you can inquire about it (see below: TO INQUIRE FOR PARTS), for which I won’t charge a processing fee. If I beleive to have parts that possibly could match your inquiry, I will point you to where listed on my web site, or I may newly list parts, that fall within the parameters of your description available for purchase via the shopping cart on my web site; AND then I will notify you by e-mail with the URL for the listed parts in response to your inquiry. ALSO: Generally: I give DEEP DISCOUNTS, if more than one part is purchaed in one order! Although: All of my efforts will focus to aid to the best extent possible for a soltion to provide parts to get your equipment working again! - Applying more than 25 years of experience! AND: I may share any information that I may have, including where to potentially find it, if I don’t have it. (See DETAIL below!!)

TO INQUIRE FOR PARTS: Inquire for the needed part by description. For your inquiry to be successful, please make sure to provide the all information that I may need to determine if I have your needed part, or if can help. The information to provide should linclude: What exactly the part is, what used for, where it is located in the circuit, all details about the part, such as physical dimensuions, electronic values, technical details, other details, and the make and model of the equipment. Ideally send me a photo of the needed part (less than 100 Kb (< 0.1 Mb) in size only! -resize in camera, or edit before uploading!!! - Otherwise: a definite “no-go!” and inquiry ignored!). I will review any succesful inquiry with your materials. If I have parts that fall within the parameters of your description I may list these parts for purchase on my web site and notify you by e-mail with the URL for the listed parts. I will also tell you either: “Sorry, I can’t help“, or: if I possibly could provide further information, photos, etc., or potentially workable parts: to simply let you know about these facts without going into detail. There won't be a processing fee to process your first inquiry e-mail up to this point, but: Anything more in additon falls into the category of ASSISTED PARTS PURCHASES (see above!)

1) Information on available parts, that potentally may work: If I have the needed part, I will e-mail you a photo and quote you the price for it, with shipping charges to your destination, so please care to include your ship-to ZIP code. In the event of a purchase: your paid processing fee will be credited towards the purchase of the part, where a total of $35 is my minimum for each assisted parts purchases. And payment of the remaining balance, including any of the shipping charges will have to have posted to my account, before your item can ship.
2) Detail information: If I don’t have the exact part, but parts that potentially may work or can be modified: I will e-mail you a photo of parts that may possibly match your part to some extent, for you to decide what will work best for you. There will be also the possibility, that none of my suggestions may work!
3) Further Detail information and follow -up: Upon further request I will e-mail further descriptive data, for parts that may work, such as more detail photo(s), physical or electronic measurement data
4) Information on how to repair without a direct replacement part: suggestions on how to repair / refurbish the original part, on on how to substitute the needed part with a simmilar part, should I have or know of a suitable replacement, if I don’t have a suitable part, that will work. -within the time frame of a parts inquiry ONLY! 5) Alternatives: refferences on where to possibly find the needed part or information form other sources, likely in form of a URL for a web site, an e-mail address or a telephone number of a company or person to cotact, who may be able to provide the information, a part or services to refurbish it.
6) Sharring Knowledge: Information about how I substituted succesffuly with other parts or modified the equipment to work with other parts, or repaired a similar problem. Other repair advice, or pointers as available - but only within the framework of a part inquiry withotu additional payment.

24. AKAI X-2000SD Output Amplifier IC, Sanyo STK-011, 10 pin. This is a truely vintage output amplifer IC, that is obsolete, as it's production has been long dicontinued. 25. AKAI X-2000SD Pinch Roller COVER / Tie Down. This part has an integrated screw so that only 1 part ise needed compated to older models. Alluminum, balck. Likely compatible with other AKAI models of the same vintage as well. 1 availalbe. $ 15.00
26. AKAI X-2000SD Ball Bearing. Part of the entrance tape guide - steel ball bearing. As the tape comes from the supply reel it enters the tape path by running over this bearing. Likely compatible with other AKAI models of the same vintage as well. 1 availalbe. $ 15.00
27. AKAI X-2000SD Pitch Conversion sleeve. This is the famous highly saught after pitch conversion sleeve, which alwyas seem to have gotten lost on many AKAI recorders. This part allows to change operating speeds of the reel to reel deck from 3 3/4 IPS to 7 1/2 IPS. Used by many AKAI models including the X-1800SD, 1700, and compatible with almost all machines that use conversion sleeves. Only 1 availalbe - Get it before someone else will!

28. AKAI X-2000SD Pitch Conversion slleeve holder. This holder stores the pitch conveersion sleeve safelt on the front panel of the machine. A perfect replacment, if on yours the bin is bent, or th esrping is broken off. Used by many AKAI models,and compatible with almost all machines that use conversion sleeves. 1 availalbe

29. AKAI X-2000SD Pot Metal Cam - Play/Stop. This part is commonly also referred to as: pot metal parts, bearings , engagement lever/shaft boss, cast puter part, bushing, or aluminum rocker part, that is on the shaft of the knob. This particular part is the primary cam for the play lever. On many AKAI machines this part gets brittle and eventually shatters leaving the machine unoperable. Many people had to junk their AKAI decks due to parts obsolete, and as this part fails on about 50% of the machines, it is highly saught after. Only 1 availalbe - get it before some one else will! This part is commonly also referred to as: pot metal parts, bearings , engagement lever/shaft boss, cast puter part, bushing, or aluminum rocker part, that is on the shaft of the knob. This is the custom integrated circuit (likely comprised of capacitors and resostors), made by Taiyo and is labeled as: AA072 with a number on back of: 5404-N, 2 available (each looks different: organge plastic case, or: dipped green - specify which one you want, was located on the main amplifier PCB, sold as: 1 each. @ $ 18.00 ea. 43. AKAI X-2000SD Record / Playback Head, Cassette Deck. This ir the R/P head of the cassette of thsi unit; Used with some sings of wear, but wear is even and it should have plenty of life left and perform well. Stereo, 1 availalbe. There are several factors that determine heads and a close match even with identical impedances will always be difficult, so a replacement with a different head than the original will likely result in poor sound quality. Get this original head, while still available! $ 35.00

44. AKAI X-2000SD Erase Head, Cassette Deck. This ir the erase head of the cassette of thsi unit; godd condition, 1 availalbe. There are several factors that determine heads and a close match will always be difficult, so a replacement with a different head than the original will likely result in poor quality recordings. Get this original head, while still available! $ 20.00

45. AKAI X-2000SD Micro Switch. Due to space limitations 2 items combined into 1 order number. These are both microswitches used in the X-200SD and ohter decks, where the green (#45B) operates with lighter force, while the red (#45A) requires heavier force. 10 1/2" Tape Reel Hub Adapters.

-These adapters are used to mount 10" reels on decks that are equipped wit the standard 7" reel mount, but sizewise can handle 10.5" tapes.

While these parts are made by TEAC to fit Teac decks, such as the 3300SX and many others, these adapters should fit almost any machine made by various manufactueres, as these fit any mechaism that would mount 7" reels. Only 1 pair availalbe and once sold gone. Excellent physical condition.
