Description: Should we call it Harmonium, Accordian, or an Organ? This air blown instrument has a little bit of everything and truely sounds amazing. It was manufacuted in the mid 1950's by a small organ company in Italy and appears hand crafted with a signature. All body parts of this instrument appear to be carefully hadcrafted to precission out of wood and it has a very full, strong, muscal, warm and bassy tone. The assemblies feature little latches that allow to relase panels and sub assemblies for cleaning and maintenance. There are fine cork gaskets. Everything in the boddy of this instrument is of the finest quality. A true piece of Italian precission craftmanship! The blower motor appears quite strong and with it's 3 1/2 octave keyboard this instrument produces strong and loud tones in a variety of ranges, including fat tones in the lower bass range. In adiditon there are 6 bass tone buttons next to the chord buttons and 24 Chord buttons. The instument is desinged to play combinations of bass and chord buttons for even more chord - and playing variations. Bass, Chords and the Keyboard have all independent tone producers for a very rich tone - You got to hear it! Hopefully soon I will be able to produce and upload a sound sample. This instumnet can be felt in body and soul - there is music! Not to be compared to simmilar instruments of later vintage - this instrument sounds extraoridianry and gorgeous! Great for spiritual music and chanting, but it really is quite usefull for quite a variety of music, including ethnic music form arrond the world.. Features: (All the buttons and knobs, left to right in the picture): 24 Chord buttons, 6 bass buttons, a 3 1/3 octave keyboard, a power switch and in the inside of the instrument is a tool mounted for maintenenace and tuning (shown). |
Condition / work performed to present thsi instument in it's current condition: I repaired and overhauled this instument. I custom built the outer casing for it form original 1950's woood and parts; and installed a power switch to make this instrument small, portable and convenient to play and use (who has the space anymore for bulky instrumnets?). Work Performed - Details: Repaired air laeaks and took various assemblies apart to clean them out completely from dust of the ages, cleaned other mechanical parts, custom built the outer casing, installed an original vintage power switch, physical cleaning and detail work. About 7 hours of labor went into this instrument to restore it to it's glory and full working condition for decades of joyful music to come! With the amount of work (and parts) that, went into this instument, it should sell in the $450 range, but I decided to make it affordable - If you come to appreciate it, please feel free to donate the extra amount of money to help me retore and revive other instruments, that should not "bite the dust".
