Interactive Information Kiosks are the means by which to deliver multi media content at a specific location. The visitor usually explores information of interest often though only for a period of time averaging 5-10 minutes. To attract the visitor to the kiosk in the first place a short loop of events is being played and vanishes to make room for the content as the visitor moves the mouse or touches the screen. The information content can be multi media, web content included. I worked for the California Acedmy of Sciences as a multi media engineer and designed the software for kiosks shown here, which are operating on the Academy of Science's museums floor. |

| This Kiosk is delivering Web content. A protective frame around the browser window denies the user access to anything but the web content. The three buttons below are the main controls of the browser: back, home and forward. Navigation can be either achieved by a track ball, or a touch screen. | This Kiosk delivers access to a searchable artifact database. An existing database was molded into a standalone kiosk application. Search categories are: artifact category, culture and artist. Popuplists are available to make a selection. | |||
